The China-Japan problem seems to be that both governments are having difficulty moving forward from the past (which was of course horrible!). Japan is no longer CAPABLE of invading China. Instead, the role of Japan should be as a "junior partner" to China (and later India) in Asia. With its small population and well-trained workforce, Japan can make valuable contributions to China's success as the "senior partner" of Asia. I see the future of Asia with two "senior partners" (China and India) and many "junior partners" (Korea, Indonesia, Australia etc).
My problem is simple: I just know better than everyone-else!

'Japan is no longer CAPABLE of invading China'

One should also mention that China never invaded Japan.
Would be fair; wouldn't it?
