China's top diplomat expressed his opinions over the past 2016 and saying the country has undertaken "proactive, confident and mature" diplomacy facing the "chaos" and "changes" world.

The past year saw an offensive trend in the nearby international community especially in the South China Sea and peaceful attitudes to the faraway nations. It's more like the strategy of Qin Empire in ancient China back to 2000 years ago before the empire tried to annex the other 6 states then and finally made it the first empire of China.

The philosophy perhaps now is taken to guide China's diplomat strategy. The most different thing between today's China and then ancient empire is the force to fullfil their dreams. Today China has more powerful soft resources to attract other countries to do what she want them to and in return she provide awards to those follow her will.

However, perhaps China would face grave situation as Donald Trump takes office next year.  So China should be well prepared for that.

It is time to resign to signal to Trump that this is a serious matter, and would be even more so, if he acts in accordance with the assumptions and tenor of the Tsai phone call.  It would send the message that China's sovereignty over Taiwan is not a trivial matter.  Even a small mistake calls for heads to roll.

The gipper did a good job, but it is time to step down to save his legacy.  His resignation would seal the One China Policy with his sacrifice.  Refusal to do so would put it in peril for the next four years.

Wang was not like that originally.  He might have been frustrated by his overtures for peaceful negotiations with other countries being regarded as signs of weakness.  If so, he should speak more directly, to avoid looking weak.  But that is beside the point.  I like Wang, but there comes a time in an official's career where his office is more important than his own future.  He cannot allow China's sovereignty to be challenged by the mere use of petty trick, and yet, he dares not offend Trump for fear of the repercussions.  Therefore, to save his country's dignity, and not offend Trump, he may have to walk away from his position, to signify that there will be a heavy price to pay for anyone offending China's sovereignty in the future, including for the next Minister of Foreign Affairs, setting the stage for a strong response by his successor.  You have to pull back the string of the bow in order to load the arrow of a meaningful protest for the next round.

All the China hands predicted China would be "furious", they did not expect it to be FUNNY instead.
