Nope, there r some things that we don't eat. Perhaps u meant yr gf/wife in CD (Chengdu)?      

Don't get localized, I'm neither a Chongqinger nor crazy about hot pots. I just couldn't help laughing when people in CD said that the authentic hot pot is from CD.               

Any CHIN care who cares what they eat? I doubt that.

I am just grateful that Chinese people are not impressed with the best cuts of meat and happily munch away on offal that we wouldn't feed to a dog. I have seen some pretty grim food in plenty of Chinese cities, not just Chengdu.

I suspect a lot of the fish are reared in ponds and very few come from rivers in our part of China. I have seen people fishing for goldfish in one of the rivers near the city centre though. Yes they eat them. They probably drink the water as well.
