The notable shortage of primary school male teachers is a longstanding problem, which many claim has cripped the education. In the primary school my daughter attends there are no male teachers except the PE teacher. Some places in China have implemented free teacher training programs for men, aiming to ease the serious gender imbalance among primary school and kindergarten teachers. Many believe that such programs a kind of gender discrimination, what do you think? Are they efficient to solve the lack of male teachers? Do we need more male teachers in elementary schools?
