This is first Russian laptop, made under the brand "Elektronika". Theproduction started in 1991 and lasted not very long due to the high price ofthe device - none of the common people could afford themselves such devices. The price for the computer was around $6000, that equals 25,000 roublesaccording to that time's exchange rate, when the average salary across thecountry was 500 roubles (50 times less!).

At that time there werepracticaly no people who earned a lot and could afford such hardware forpersonal use. It was mainly produced for larger industrial factory engineers sothat they could carry it along with them and plug to the larger machines theyoperated.

It has been reported that not more than athousand of such computers were produced. The exact technical specificationsare not very clear.

According to people who used them thespecifications were as following:

CPU, Intel 8086 clone, with the speed of 4.47 Mhz
RAM: 1mb
Videocard: CGA (It was such a video standard that supported only two colours, black and white)
Screen: Monochrome (black&white) 640x200
HDD: no exact data
Weight: approx. 10 lbs (it was heavy!)

And it seems the exterior was a kind of cloningattempt of Toshiba-3100

It's a very rareexhibit, due to its limited production. Many people even don't know that in thelate 80s there were a laptop production in Russia.

Someone may pay a large sum for that today.

'First Apple computer' sells for $815,000'
A prototype Apple 1, a holy-grail item in electronics memorabilia, has been sold for $815,000 (£618,000).
Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak built just 200 of the computers in 1976.
The model auctioned this week contains tell-tale signs that it is a prototype, probably made prior to its manufacturing run.
One computer historian says it is "one of the first, if not the first ever" Apple computer.
This "celebration edition" Apple 1 was expected to make $1m, but auctioneer Charitybuzz told the BBC that the final bid was $815,000.
That means it is not the highest-grossing Apple 1 computer - that distinction belongs to a rare working version that sold for $905,000 at a Bonhams auction in New York in October 2014.

Maybe not that much, but you never know.....time to look at yard sales.
