Along with individual emotion, society does have a part to play to these events. One could easily s ...

So basically what you're saying is its the parents who should give more support to their kids even if they don't do as well as they would have hoped for!!
complaining about a 98% score is absolute madness, and just highlights why some kids take their own lives. I knew a girl who was overlooked in favour of her 2 brothers when they went to university, and she was pulled out of middle school to work in a shop. Yet a few yrs later her father was asking why she is not able to make a big salary. She was called a failure which really affected her confidence. Too many parents are only thinking of the benefits for themselves when putting their kids to college....
if you want something in life get off your backside, and do it yourself!! don't rely on others to do it for you

Every time I saw this kind of suicide I felt sad. I really can't understand why a young person chooses to suicide.

I knew a suicide in my uni when I was there. That guy's father came to see him and lived in the uni guest house. They even didn't have a fight or an argument. There were no signs of that jumping. After seeing his daddy, he went to the top floor then jumped, leaving a desperate father.

Some of the students who witnessed the jumping body applied to take months off the uni. That building is close to one gate of the uni so many people passed by.

I heard the story of unfair parents similar to your story.

There are always good parents, bad parents, unfair parents, fair parents, good behavior parents, bad behavior parents, encouragement parents, blame parents…………

Wish increasing people focus on the parenting and schooling. Wish less suicides happen.

That's the point. Some of the students take Gao Kao's score serious. They think it is their lives. ...

That does not mean they are weak. Everyone succumbs to pressure and stress, eventually. It doesn't mean they are weak. You cannot force children, whose minds and bodies are still developing, to live up to your adult expectations. Chinese students feel obligated to please their parents. The only ones they have to please, are themselves. If they are doing the best they can, they shouldn't be expected to try and do the best that someone else wants them to do. Education is about learning, not regurgitation. Not every kid can be "the top student" ... and not every kid can go to Tsinghua ... yet every parent "expects" their kid to be the top student AND go to Tsinghua.

Kids take GaoKao scores seriously, and think that if they don't do well they will be failures in life, because this is the message that their parents force them to believe.

Not once have I ever heard a parent say, "Do your best". All I've ever heard is, "Be the best". This little girl did not commit suicide because she was "weak". She committed suicide because she was unable to conform to unrealistic expectations.
Stupid people are like Glowsticks. You want to snap them in half and shake the crap out of them until they see the light.
I love sarcasm. It's like punching someone in the head ... only with words
