We pay taxes every month so that we can get pensions after we retire. The more we pay, the more we get after retirement. It seems logical, but for those who live in rural or impoverished areas, they could not afford such amount of money. The government should establish a sound and cover-for-all system to ensure every retiree in the county live a decent life.

I don't want to be the burden on my daughter. As the only child, she has to struggle for life when she grows up especially in the backdrop of fierce competition. When she marries, she has to care for her children. So I have to be fiancially independent and hope she will visit me sometimes. I believe most Chinese moms think so.

Yes, but most Chinese Mums may think this but maybe the practice is different. If the daughter came to see them a few times, the Mum would soon start to complain about this and that.
