I cannot believe that so many children today don't want a sibling.  In one extreme case a girl made a sucidal attempt to prevent her mom having a second child.  Finally the mom gave in and had an abortion. Is the one-child policy that created a generation of spoilt emperors and empresses? I have two siblings, and I like being in a big family because you always have someone to play with and take care of.

I've seen it all now...
if you want something in life get off your backside, and do it yourself!! don't rely on others to do it for you

Yet another case of a spoilt brat, rather than let her keep her clothing budget I would cut it to zero.

i see that the weird behavior starts young.

if my 9-year-old child did that, i would think i failed as a parent.

this is not mutual respect, it is clearly disrespectful on the part of the child and very selfish. if the parents agreed to sign it, i wouldn't blame the child for turning out the way she has. she clearly has not been given enough guidance...and look at the things she asked for, material stuff. is this materialism at its finest? the child's logic in the contract is not admirable at all. her love for the new baby would be conditional and not unconditional. honesty is important, but when the child is wrong and is not corrected, then you have a big problem.

i see some people supporting such behavior. i once too tried to look for the good when a mainland kid acted with disrespect, you know, try to keep positive because i love kids. oh, she's clever, knows how to get what she wants, i told myself. now i think forget it, i wasn't being honest, that kid sucked, selfish too. she knew how to take advantage of people's love for kids to get what she wanted, and at such an early age. that's not clever, it's stupidity acting smart. but it reflects what adults do too: take advantage of whatever to get what you want. these people can't tell the difference between right and wrong. the child learned the behavior from somewhere. the question is where? society, parents, teachers?

so if you think this is "progress" and you have most chinese people agreeing with you, i think china's future is doomed.
