Who carws after 70 years!!!

Your children may own castles la

I care. I bought a second-hand house that was built in the 1980s. I have to pay land transfer fees or else be forced to move out of the house when the lease is due. I save a lifetime money to buy a house but gain nothing when I retire. What if it happens to you?

""When will China adopt the full private ownership of land?""

Never if we are lucky. Land ownership ...

China will never have land ownership, it's like your wife's flat when the lease runs out it reverts to government  ownership

You can't own land in HK either. In HK, it's 99 years.

What do you mean you don't know what will happen? When the lease is over, you move out. What compensation do you want? That wasn't part of the contract you signed. When the lease is over, it goes back to the owner, which is the government. So the person who is in charge of the particular department in the government can do with your house as they see fit. They may demolish the house or lease it out to another tenant.

There is nothing wrong with leasing. If you don't like it, don't lease in the first place. But in China, why is the leasing price so high? If you're not going to own it, it should be much, much cheaper.

Just imagine what happened to the landowners in the 60s/70s China, then you may consider yourself lucky. Why did you decide to take away land from the people? Why can't people own them? So today's China is a result of what happened in the 60s/70s.

We have property on lease and it's going back in a year or so. So I feel your pain, man. But we didn't pay so much for it.
