Name one privately owned construction company in China that has built a public school in China.

G ...

No, don't get it. what is the name of the company that built the school in which lot of students died?

Who told you only government owned construction companies in China that has built a public school.

BTW, out of 80 - 90,000 death, 8,000 were children.

It doesn't sound like that disproportional number of children died. Are you saying government owned construction companies built all buildings?

How many Japanese schools were destroyed because they were built wrong?

How many Japanese parents ...

What do you think of the following?

Police arrest 400 at U.S. Capitol in protest of money in politics

Police arrested more than 400 protesters outside the U.S. Capitol on Monday from Democracy Spring, an organization seeking to remove big money from politics and combat restrictive voter identification laws.

The mostly calm and orderly demonstration resulted in arrests for what the U.S. Capitol Police called "unlawful demonstration activity" such as crowding and obstruction.

Organizers vowed to repeat the demonstration every day for a week.

The protest was held "to demand Congress take immediate action to end the corruption of big money in our politics and ensure free and fair elections," Democracy Spring said on its website.

The group lists actor Mark Ruffalo and academic Noam Chomsky and dozens of well-known activist groups among its supporters.

"We believe this is the people's house, and Congress should be responsive to the people. We need to protect voting rights," said Peter Callahan, the group's communications coordinator.

Protesters hoisted a scarecrow-like effigy of a corporate lobbyist holding money bags and a sign reading, "Warning: Massive civil disobedience is next."

Police arrested those who sat on the stairs of the East Front of the Capitol, the seat of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Democracy Spring traces its roots to the end of the Occupy Los Angeles movement, and its rise coincides with the presidential campaigns of Democrat Bernie Sanders and Republican Donald Trump, both of whom speak against the influence of campaign contributions on politicians.

You tell me. I'm sure many school children were killed in the Fukushima quake.
Was it stupidity, greed, or corruption that caused all the death and destruction in the Fukushima quake?
Or don't you know.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?

My heart goes out to people of Japan.

The good, the bad & the ugly! When crony capitalists rule, or ruin the world, things turn upside down. The good become the bad, the bad & ugly turn good. What a world we live in!

The whole of Japan sits on an earthquake zone, so it makes sense for the Japanese to have all their properties and infrastructure works be built to the Earthquake Design Codes (EDC).

Naturally, EDC buildings will withstand the shakings of the earthquakes better than non-EDC constructed ones, but at a cost of 50% and more.
The specifications for the concrete quality will have to be better; more the expensive cement ratio than the cheaper sand and gravel aggregates. Extra steel re-bars will be required, up to 30 - 40% added steelwork. And higher stringent workmanship demanded.

China is a huge country. There are just a few southern provinces in the Himalaya region that are prone to frequent earthquakes, thus requiring all the buildings and infrastructure works throughout China to the EDC is uneconomical and nonsensical.
