I respectfully maintain my opinion on the grounds of 1. economic efficiency and 2. reduction of cultural conflict. I lack an ear for languages too. I do not disagree that being multilingual is culturally and intellectually broadening. However, the average human is not an intellectual; and I am concerned about these averages. The intellectually-gifted can certainly look after their own interests without help. Le seul langue que je comprend c'est la francais. And, as you can see, I don't know the grammar or the genders.
