Changing the environment is easy compared to the struggle to change the education system that relies on rote learning of facts in order to pass outdated tests, without any encouragement for initiative and thinking or any development of social relationships. The development of a teaching profession that commands respect and trust with sharing and honesty is much more difficult to achieve.
English teacher and education adviser. China needs a teaching profession with less fear and more trust and honesty.
