There is only so much news that can be reported on. That is why most things fly under the radar so t ...

On reporting let's not villainize the Chinese. When Obama said Turkey was defending its borders by shooting down the Russian plane, Turkey had an entire battalion uninvited inside Iraq. They were asked by Iraq to leave several times politely but they stayed - which translate to an uninvited invasion. But inside US its entire media failed to point this out. The time frame released and acknowledged by the world on that Russian plane that infringed a little Turkey's airspace was so brief that any Turkish pilot will not be able to finish issuing a sentence of proper warning which has serious implications on Turkey.

Morally - America is already off the podium of moral high ground.

Of course American decay is one thing, Chinese qualitative reporting improvement is another. Actually inside China the people on the floor are well aware of the happenings and they are very conscious of the happenings inside China than any Westerner think they consciously know. Chinese politicians are more afraid of their citizens than American politicians are afraid of their citizens and this itself is a better check than any system that exist inside US. And China is consciously trying to improve their internal system. If one compares the normal Chinese today with those 10 years ago - the difference is remarkable. Their knowledge and aptitude have improved multiple folds. Just a rough gauge they are only slightly behind the Japanese, Singaporeans and Australians but can be considered largely on par with people from Taiwan, Korea and Hong Kong. In business there are already many sayings that its no different doing business in America than it is in China - its just the manner in which things are being packaged. But inside China one has to be more careful since there is a stronger deterrent because certain offences can lead to death sentence or life long jail term while in America this isn't the case - another good deterrent for vices and corruption. When one talks about cronyism - that's an age old global practice and it happens all over the world even as of now, not just in China.

As the Chinese reach out to world both by way of tourism and business, it is not possible to hide the real on-goings. Recently China held the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, China and this enables the business people from inside China to interact with those from outside. Information will be exchanged notwithstanding the internet restriction inside China. The free business competition taking place inside China is only coming out to world now and probably the next 20 years will testify that the Chinese on the floor actually knew more than what Westerners are made to think they know. As it is the Chinese are intensifying global competition for example in mobile phones. Apple and Samsung may still command about 40% market share between them, but the next 40% are all Chinese brands and the Chinese are not stopping there as they are just beginning to develop high end phones. Japan a supposedly tech giant isn't really in the competition. If the Chinese are uninformed or stupid, they cannot possibly step out to compete and don't think the Chinese government is that stupid to want to nurture stupid people who can't help their economy thrive. But for various political reasons the West derives a great sense of achievement by painting the Chinese as stupid.  But being backwards for some 35% of Chinese is a truth, given its recent one century (from mid-19th to mid-20th century) of suffering and decay not because of present day misinformation.

Trump says he will put a 45% import tariff on Chinese goods. So that would basically eliminate the Chinese from the US markets.

Tump's main impetus is to level the playing field.
He said "I would tax China on products coming in, I would do a tariff, yes -- and they do it to us."
