time can change many things and you are right people who care about truth don't care when they lea ...
I see. Timely truth is important and it is of course better, but untimely truth is important, too. It is not meaningless. Even though untimely truth may arrive too late to save past lives, but it can teach you a lot so that you do not make the same mistake in the future. Untimely truth can save future lives.
Well, if people are honest, they want to know the truth, even if the truth can't be used for any practical purposes. If you don't care about honesty, then you don't care about the truth. Who cares what's true. In Chinese culture, many people just care about face, and as long as you give face, the truth doesn't matter. You will be willing to make the same mistake again, just because you need to save face to cover up your mistakes, and you can't admit that you were wrong. But this only saves one person's fragile ego, and it harms the human race.
That's why Chinese people are so stubborn and they can't admit it when they're wrong. They will defend and make excuses for wrong behavior, both of themselves and of fellow Mainland Chinese, until the sky collapses. They think they are being honorable and they think they are protecting the homeland from non-existent invaders, but actually they bring destruction to themselves, to chinese progress and greater civilization.
And then when China suffers, they think it's the leader's fault. No, the leader in truth has a very limited role. It is the people's choice to go along with the leader. The time to disagree with the leader is before they do something. You don't blame them after the fact.
