Employment is the foundation of the people's livelihood, which is also true of the world’s largest capitalist country, the United States of America. Impacted by the economic crisis which started in 2008, the unemployment rate of the US rose to its peak. Earning a living became hard for Americans. Today, things are getting better. Figures show that the employment rate of the US has been rising for 62 months by April, creating 12.3 million jobs in total and setting a new record in US history. The unemployment rate of April was 5.4%, the lowest since May 2008. The above figures show that the employment situation in the US has been getting better, for which China has contributed a lot aside from the background of global economic recovery. On the eve of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the US, let’s make an inventory on how China has helped its US counterpart create more jobs.

As the facts show, China’s economic growth has created more and more jobs for Americans. Maintaining a sound Sino-US economic and trade relationship benefits the American people. The US government should take into consideration its people’s interests and achieve mutual benefits in Sino-US collaborations. Anything that hampers Sino-US trade is not beneficial and should be removed.

What sort of people are out of work?

This post was edited by cestmoi at 2015-9-20 05:51

That's a very good question.

The stats you put up won't impress the average Usanian because China and Chinese have been used as a perennial scapegoat and fall guy for most problems andd for far too long. Sinophobia is palpable.

I think first of all you need to find out what sort of people are out of work, the type of work they are looking for and their expectations.

What %-tage of STEM graduates are out of work compared with those who did not finish high school?

What about skilled trades-people?

If asked to create jobs, you first need to ask why USA hasn't been able to create enough jobs for these people and who are these people.

My guess is a picture woould emerge showing a part of the population unemployable.

But you cannot really tell them it's partly their ownn fault, that would be "trumpism"

Most of it is indeed "sooty smoke", Usanians will see through that. Sometimes, I wonder how they come up with these misleading arguments. There's a German word for it, scheinheilig. One thing they need to learn is to be genuine.

These days, many Usanians ask why they should train Chinese, there are voices that suggest limiting the number of Chinese students coming over here to study. China is siphoning a lot of knowledge and know-how, giving very little in return

That said, I think cooler heads would prevail. Chinese students is a big source of income for many Usanian schools.
