I had great hope for Obama, since he is from my hometown.
(I even met him once)
But the more I see...
the more I realize he is just another tool for the rich.
All the promises he made on the campain trail came to nothing.

End to the lobby (it has grown)
Bring Wallstreet execs to justice (never happened)
Transparacy (don't think so)
Whistle blowers ( Look at Snowden and he has used the  espionage act more than all other administrations)

Perhaps you are too young to have been aware of the very real brutalities that took place in the USSR and its satellites under the "name" of communism. I can see much value in some aspects of true Marxism; and what happened in the USSR was NOT true Marxism. And, I think you are overdoing your criticism of the US government and political system. I'm on the "left", myself and not an American. But I see the US in a more positive light despite its current failings. On this site, you are interacting with a large proportion of bloggers who have a jealous, uninformed and irrational hatred of your country.

The main reason so many of his promises failed to come-true is the dogged opposition of the unprincipled elements among the rich (there are principled elements too). You should not give-up so easily. PS: Indeed, look at Snowden. Instead of taking his protests through proper channels, he was careless about avoiding intelligence harm to his country, and broke the law. That is not an exampled of principled democratic opposition.
