Our government is working on it. But it takes longer than expected

There will never be change as long as GDP growth is put ahead of clean air.

Couple of easy ways to clean the air in China: stop building coal energy, put catalysts to cars, improve fuel quality and stop wasting energy.

"No better"???

No better than what?

More gibberish disguised as proper English. I was shocked this post wasn't made by Deputy Dusty.

Arf, arf.

Coal is slowly being phased out but the demand for things like electricity is increasing quicker than new power stations can be built, regulations for car emmisions has improved vastly in the last few years but can not keep pace with the increase in car numbers and petrol for cars has improved, only last year Shanghai brought in new regulations and 93 octane was withdrawn.

As to wasting energy you are right, is there really a need to light up the roofs of so many ordinary buildings in Shanghai and other cities? Many taxi drivers seem to realise this so they drive without their lights on at all times.

There is a balance between economy and pollution.
The question is how much price is suitable for a success

I personally hate the GDP very much.
I prefer clean environment
But it’s impractical for a developing country
