Sad to say that in America, it is cheaper to eat a Mc.Donalds' meal than it is to buy a bag of apples. Therefore, I agree with taxing fast food on the same scale that luxury items are taxed. However, healthy food, especially fresh produce should not be taxed.

If the food is knowingly unhealthy, why are they allowed to sell it? Maybe the Government should step in and demand nutrition levels that promote good health instead of taxing everything they claim to be bad. I would gladly vote against the sugar industry, and any company increasing the fillers with bad fats. However, this is more about increasing the tax revenues for governments that cannot control their spending, and lack of exercise due to the lifestyles being promoted. I see little obesity problems with those who add a little resistance to their life other than 12 ounce curls. That being said, why do we have to inconvenience some with higher taxes for the bad habits of others?
