We all hear the stories of foreigners who simply cannot adapt to life in China. Perhaps some good advice in preparation would have helped mitigate some of the frustrations. If you had to give only one piece of advice to anyone thinking about living in China for any significant period of time, what would it be?

buy tons of patience prior to move to CN
some day Jiangsu will rule China

uh, yes. learn to play dead. it'll come in handy...lol

china is not that bad. you only need patience if you go with the wrong attitude. i would say, if you think the west is superior, don't come to asia. but if you love asia, then you won't be complaining.

make sure to leave your wife/gf at home...
if you want something in life get off your backside, and do it yourself!! don't rely on others to do it for you

make sure that your assistant/interpretor is behind YOU, not the employer
