Filipinos rescue 7 Chinese fishermen(in undisputed Philippine territoy near Tawi-Tawi Island.

(PCG) Philippine Coast Guard Chinese vessel caught in fire and sank off in Mapun Tawi-tawi, a total of seven Chinese National fishermen were rescued after the incident.

In the initial report given by Philippine Coast Guard in Tawi-tawi, the fishermen managed to jump off on the boat before it sank.

Those Chinese fishermen were saved by crew members of another ship which was fleeting by the area.

The main cause of the fire has yet determined. Local officials and Philippine Coast Guard said that they experience hard time getting information from the seven Chinese fishermen due to foreign language barrier.

Recently Palawan courts have convicted 12 fishermen from Chinese who were caught illegally fishing on the protected waters of the reef in Tubbataha. The crew members were sentenced to six to ten years of imprisonment, and the boat's captain was sentenced 12 years imprisonment. The accused were also mandated to pay the USD 100,000 fine.

Such "POSITIVE NEWS" about the Philippines

was mentioned in major Chinese newspapers with only a few sentences.

It was not even explicite mentioned that they had been rescued by Filipinos.

Just quoting the Philippine coastguard, thats all.

POACHING IN OTHER COUNTRIES' WATERS IS A CRIME AGAINST A COUNTRY, BUT THE PUNISHMENT OF 12 YEARS IS AN ATROCITY, AN ABOMINATION, AND A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.

If the fishermen are answerable to the Palawan government, then the Palawan government must be made answerable to the world.

The length of imprisonment and the amount of the bail is astronomic and beyond the value of the fish or turtles caught by the fishermen, and must be rescinded, or be branded as simply BARBARIC.

The sentence of 12 years imprisonment for the captain of the Chinese fishing vessel is clear violation of the Universal Charter of Human Rights, in that it degrades the humanity of the accused, and that the punishment is both cruel and unusual, and thus, arbitrary and degrading as well.

The captain may have committed a crime of trespassing and theft.

The government of Palawan has committed a crime against humanity itself, which is a greater crime, and should be punished with a fine of 1.2 million dollars.

How many Philippine citizens have been sentenced to death in China, despite a personal plea for clemency by the Philippine president.

You should appriciate, that the Philippines is such a civilized country that it had abanoned this inhuman punishment.

Next time when you are again in the mood to "murder" another Philippine citizen on your own soil, you may ask the Philippine government for a deal.
