    Agartala: More than 1,500 ethnic Chakmas from Matiranga in the Khagrachari district of Bangladesh fled to the Indo-Bangla border on Saturday following a clash with locals.

    A clash took place at 11.30 a.m., following which the people were sheltered at Karbook in South Tripura, near the border, BSF DIG B.S. Rawat said. The Chakmas were not allowed to enter India, he added, but were provided with food, drinking water and shelter on humane ground- PTI
