Year after year, the spring festival witnesses the most important moment for hundreds of millions of families in China. People travel more than thousands of miles to celebrate this festival together regardless of the long distance and high cost. Nothing could stop the family from being united. With the smiles on everyone’s face, you could have a taste on how happy people are from the lanterns, temple fairs and so on.

Being hung high on the trees, the red lanterns endow the lake with a hilarious atmosphere. Not only do the lanterns beautify the atmosphere of the park, but also grant a whale of happiness to eyes meet them. A sensation of sweetness rushes into the hearts of the visitors immediately.

From early on, the Chinese people have the red lanterns hung up. At the very beginning, the red lanterns are used to scare away the monsters according to the legends. Gradually, the red lanterns have become the symbol of reunion and joy. No matter where you are in china, you will have no difficulty in finding a red lantern around you.

The red lanterns are the cultural icon of spring festival without doubt. Whenever you see the red lanterns, the spring festival is probably approaching. Wonderful scenery could be made out of lanterns. I just found the red lanterns cover the bridge in Daming Lake, which delight my heart warmly in the cold morning air. The red lanterns are the flowers of spring. With the jubilant red petals, the red lanterns may deliver me with the aroma of spring festival.

Loitering on the bridge covered by red lanterns, I hoped that this bridge knows no bound. Only then could I stay in the castle of red lanterns forever. The happiness enveloped me while I was walking through the red lanterns. I felt like being the princess of red lanterns myself.

Every spring festival in my hometown is welcomed with the temple fair by the side of the Daming Lake, which is a famous tourist attraction in Jinan, Shandong Province. During the spring festival, the vendors come here to sell a sea of goods including the traditional toys, the street food, the spring couplets and so on. Glorious as it is, it is truly a feast for the eye. Most importantly, you have the chance to see many traditional arts and crafts presented here during the day. There are hawkers who are good at blowing the sugar into different shapes. Meanwhile, you can appreciate the lion dance and people walking on stilts. With the beating of gongs and drums, you can not expect to have more Chinese flavor from these traditional celebrations.

As our new year is approaching, many wishes come to the people’s hearts. You may hear people say good luck to each other on the streets. Hopes of being more successful and making a fortune always play a large part of all the blessings.

Those blessings could be turned into material shapes by hands and swears. People in my grandfathers’ village make red paper cuts in the shape of copper coin. As you can see above, the red paper cuts are hanged under the roof as if they are falling down from the sky. Therefore, those paper cuts are called Diaoqian in Chinese, which means the money come to people’s pocket directly from the sky. How interesting it is!

Decorations add up the festival atmosphere for the spring festival. You can expect to see the red lanterns, the spring couplets festooned on every rural house. In my eyes, the spring festival is red. Who can deny that red is the symbol of happiness in China?

Temple fairs are presented across the country during the spring festival. The most famous temple fair in Qingzhou is celebrated in Song Dynasty Town. Song Dynasty Town is endowed with the historic climate as well as the festival flavor. The streets there are strewn with festival lanterns of various sizes. Normally, the big festival lanterns would glow on the lantern festival which is exactly the last day of spring festival. The colorful festival lanterns create the fairyland for everyone to appreciate.

Like the temple fair in Daming Lake, the temple fair in Song Dynasty Town also encompass a host of commodities. You can get everything related to spring festival here basically. From windmill in children’s hands to local product like nectarine of Qingzhou, you name it. You may fight against your desire to buy items here with difficulty.

As the old saying goes, East or best, home is best. When spring festival comes to town, you may grab your parents’ hands and stroll in the temple fair together. Let the red lanterns hang up and sing out your wishes. Spring festival is not only a feast for eye, but also a merry time spent with families and friends. There is nothing like spring festival for the Chinese.
