TALK POINT FROM THE SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE

A hot topic now is the upcoming referrendum for the independence of the scotland. The people are devided, as well as their medias.
Of course it's a thorn in the back for Mr Cameron.

Now,The Scotsman has spoken.
In a lengthy editorial ahead of the vote on Scottish independence, Scotland's flagship daily news outlet has joined forces with the embattled campaign for staying in the union.
The Scotsman argued that Scotland already has many features of independence, such as its own parliament, its unique legal system and control of education and policing. It added that a breakaway from the United Kingdom would create instability.

From the editorial:
We are in complete control of education, which must be the surest way of shaping the future we want, we are in charge of health, which is the very practical delivery of how we care for people. The NHS has become an emotive topic in this debate, because it is close to us all for very practical reasons but also because it is the embodiment of the altruism and egalitarianism that forms a large part of our collective identity. But we can shape the NHS in Scotland as we choose.
...
The biggest factor in creating a prosperous and equal nation is the economy, and an independent Scotland would, of course, be able to stand on its own two feet, but under current proposals some of the levers needed would lie elsewhere and stability is under threat and that could come at a cost.

The first thing to touch me in these excerpts is the their systematic importance paid to the education because it‘s the control of education that can shape the future of a society. The reality is the result of our history, and will decide our future. To some extent, the education level three decades ago play a big role in the society's current prosper.

Everyone knows that we are a great exporter in the world. But our products are mainly perched in the low-end of the echelon in which the high end ones has been occupied by developed countries. Germany is a phototype.
Everyone knows the high quality of the German products, but few people know that compulsory education has been stipulated in law for nearly 300 years.

When I say the education, you may argue that our society pays high attention to it. Yes, when we have parties, the most favorite topic is child. But I would say, do we have a complete education system that creates full developed human resources generantons after generations? Do we pay enough respect to education operators whose influence is of great importance to our child? That is our future. The practitioner of the great China Dream.

Well, now that it is all over, as a yes voter, it was sad to see us lose, however, for politics in general it was a win, what a massive turnout, on top of that, there are moves to decentralise both English and Scottish governments now. Even though Scotland is not independent, such moves highlight the problems of the country, they bring such issues to the eyes if the people and the politicians.

Mr Alex Salmond has been my favourite politician of all time, I think he has done a fantastic job. One of the first politicians who does what he says on the tin. I hope he can move past this in lead Scotland on to further reforms to strengthen our position within the union.I hope he does not lose moral after such a defeat and continues to work for Scotland now as a member of the union. There is no point being bitter, this is democracy and this is what the people chose so I might as well get on board even if I disagree.

I do not hate England, nor am I a racist. I am happy with my nationality, I was unhappy with the social welfare reforms and the English right wing, however I know that in the future, We will all continue to co-operate as that's the one great thing about us, we are always able to move past things. We moved past the last Scottish independence vote in the seventies and we will move past this one. We moved past our years of bitter history and infighting.

As for those who think the Scottish independence was about racism, about hating England...it was nothing of the sort. Most Scottish have no ill feeling towards the English, even myself, half my family is English. Such disgusting stereotypes and replies are really ignorant. Remember you represent your country wherever you go, even if you don't think you do, others will still make such judgements. As for certain people who post here...just remember what others think of your country after your racist outburst here.
