What to do during the 2016 National Day holiday?

If you are now working in China or staying with your Chinese friends, you will have a seven-day holiday in the country. How to reasonably deal with the seven days when you don’t have to work? I think you still have a few better choices if you don’t want to do what others do. Anyway, what can you do to make the seven days meaningful?

1. Travel

In China, people usually don’t have very long holidays for them to travel in a year, and the National Day holiday seems to be the only time for them to enjoy themselves wholeheartedly. Many people choose to travel to faraway places which they don’t have time to travel to during workdays. I also want to travel but I don’t want to visit places which are too faraway from me. The warning is: no matter where you travel, please avoid the first day of the seven days and places where most travelers crave to visit.

2. Rest

The workdays are too tiring and now is the perfect time to have a good rest. You can stay indoors having a good sleep. Those who are indulged in this activity can sleep from morning to dusk. It’s quite enjoyable! For me, if I rest, I prefer to take a walk inside a less frequently visited park where there are small woods and ponds. Lie down on a wooden bench, take a nap and think about the fairyland where you cannot visit in real life.

3. Play

I know some people prefer to stay at home rather than go outside to breathe the air of nature. If you are like such people, which seems not that pleasant, I think the best way to relieve your stress during these days is to play computer games, all kinds of them, from Plants VS Zombies to Warcraft or to newer games. For me, I am not interested in games, and so I would love to download a few new movies from Xulei Movies (http://www.dytt8.net/) to watch. This is quite enjoyable.

In addition to the three ways, you still have lots of ways to reasonable use your holiday time, but what I can think of are these ways. I hope everyone has an interesting, entertaining and meaningful National Day holiday!

We entertain quite a bit as our friends and relatives like to visit us in our country home during the holidays. So it is actually a busier time for us.

Your time during the National Day holiday will be meaningful for sure, although as you have said, it is busy. Good days to you!

I was in Zhejiang when I saw a street opera like this. It was very interesting to see a Chinese opera on the street for free. There was a pretty big crowd there, but I could still see the play. It was days like this that made the Chinese culture so interesting to me. Unfortunately I didn't get to share it with anyone, this was before I used Wechat. I liked how you could enjoy special treats for only 1 or 2 yuan, and even gamble a little bit.
