I used to love eating meat. Now I am a vegetarian. Why? I'd always thought about being a vegetarian but thought there was no way I could ever give up meat. One thing that stuck in my mind was the following Buddhist quote:

"All living things fear being beaten with clubs.
All living things fear being put to death.
Putting oneself in the place of the other,
Let no one kill nor cause another to kill."
(Dhammapada 129)

The following photos are of my little bird, Calypso. We never think of "meat" as an animal but I believe these pictures get you thinking of what it is you are actually eating. Enjoy.
