delegate to the 12th National Women's Congress of China says she will share what she has learnt from the recent event with her colleagues and make even greater achievements when she returns to her work in the field of oil and gas.

Li Qingping serves as a department chief in the Technology Research and Development Center at the Research Institute of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).

Over the past 20 years, she has devoted herself to scientific research and led her teammates to make remarkable achievements in the oil drilling industry.

For example, she established a technical system for the safety assurance of projects in 1,500-meter deep water with proprietary intellectual property rights. Her team's independent research about deep-water oil and gas development and gas hydrate has greatly enhanced China's influence in the world.

Her achievements have won her numerous titles such as National March 8th Red-Banner Holder and 2017 Top Ten Maritime Professional.

Li was honored to attend the national women's congress, she says. As one of the few sci-tech professionals present, she was also aware of the heavy responsibilities on her shoulders.

"CNOOC has over 14,000 female workers. I will call on them to make new achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China by combining the spirit of this congress with our work," said Li.

After earning her doctoral degree from China University of Petroleum in 1988, Li joined CNOOC as a scientific researcher. There, she studied the application of underwater production technology, the safety assurance of deepwater projects and cutting-edge technologies in the use of natural gas hydrate.

"No matter what I do, I am determined to do it well. My teammates and I have offered different ways to perform each task assigned to us because we always aim high," said Li.
