Ever since Mao's 1949 announcement of the formation of the PRC, Western economists have yearly forecasted the economic downfall of China, and every year they have been proven wrong.
China's economy remains strong in spite of the rest of the world's faltering capitalist economies, and will continue to be strong as long as Beijing continues its policy of "Socialism with Chinese characteristics."
What are the important characteristics? First and foremost, give People priority over business. (This is the factor that has kept the U.S. upset about China, as the U.S. is all about business first and People last.) Corruption notwithstanding, China has been admirable in its providing for the People.
Secondly, privatize but don't capitalize. There's no room for Western capitalism in China. Capitalism is easily defined as privatization without Central Government regulation. As China expands opportunities for the People to privatize, it also expands its regulation on the various industries. This is the essential component to ensure the growth and stability of a classless society. Within the system of regulations are rules of taxation, which becomes the solution for fully establishing the egalitarian system in which both the extreme poor and extreme rich are reined in.
Thirdly, Chinese People incorporate the teachings of the early cultures into their business practices and their daily living. This unfortunately was weakened during the Republic’s formative years, and as President Xi implicitly suggests, deserves a reawakening. China’s greatest gift to the world is arguably the philosophic teachings found in the writings of Confucianism and Daoism. The people who are well versed in these teachings do not easily fall into the trap of believing the American myth that money buys happiness, and consequently conduct business ethically, productively,  and with generosity.
Keep up the good work, China! The rest of the world finds it difficult to understand the direction China is going, but as long and China continues its path, the rest will soon learn to follow.
