I was talking about a peddler, and now you begin to derail the topic and keep mentioning BBC and the police. Can you aim more accurately before you pee?

It's not acceptable to charge more, no matter what the item is. This also applies in the west with "tourist shops" run by either foreign interests or locals who price gouge tourists via captive shopping of Asian tourists who travel in the west.

Charging more for tourists is the norm in most of Asia, the sub continent,  East Asia, Africa and in parts of the South Americas.  I detest the practice.  Singapore has one of the most advanced "price gouging systems" I've ever seen, there's tourist rate, local rate but I don't know you and "local and I know you" prices. I have been told by some Chinese friends that the same applies in China, that it's actually a 3 tier pricing structure.

It does not leave a good taste in the mouth knowing you are being ripped off.
