Report says that Chinese carmakers narrow quality gap with global brands.  If this is the case, will you buy an affordable car that's made in China?

By Samuel Shen and Norihiko Shirouzu

(Reuters) - China's state-owned GAC Motor scored above average in a closely watched quality survey, as home-grown brands narrowed the gap with the foreign marques that dominate the world's biggest car market.

Far better than a krudmobile built in the US or UK.

GM notoriously moved its service desk away from its sales desk so that the buyers wouldn't hear the "irate rants" of earlier victims. Ford has used ancient ladder-chasses in its F-150 truck and a live rear-axle in its equally lethal Mustang. It doesn't get any worse than that!
Compounding is the magic ingredient.

Why? They are just lesser copies of everything other people have made.

People will buy Chinese cars ...

We have some models of Chinese made vehicles here in NZ but one doesn't see them on the road much. They seem to be great value but I think that China has a very serious quality image to build!
