If someone had asked me this 2 years ago, I would have said "USA" without hesitation.

Nowadays, I'm not so sure.

Of course the term "better" is subjective, but what is your opinion and why?

To me:

  • USA has more personal freedoms
  • USA has more chances to become super-rich
  • USA has cleaner air and water (since all the industry has moved to China!)
  • Each country has equally dishonest governments
  • China has the superior economy
  • China has a better chance for an educated person to live comfortably, due to lower cost of living compared to salary

There are many other factors. But I'm not so convinced the USA is "better" any more.

Please, let's try to not bash one country or its government. Try to keep it civil and unoffensive.

Edit: moderator, please help. These are not the poll options I entered. The forum software repeated the first entry 3 more times, and ignored my other two entries. (which were "China is 'better'" and "50/50" I can't seem to edit the poll...

IMHO China is much better.
If I would have to choose where to live the rest of my life I would not even think about USA.

As a matter of fact, I see many Chinese emigrate to USA while little Americans immigrate to China.
You are obviously not a good liar.
One thing that's truly hard to eradicate is the idea.

if there is a chance for a young Chinsese, i think that few will hesitate to go to the US.
at least, a yong Chinese can be much easier to succeed in US than in China under the condition that they make the same effort.

When I was in China, most people treated me with indifference.

The old people glared at me angrily.

Some young people were fascinated.

Only shopkeepers treated me politely. ;)

I can't complain.
