Days ago, Beijing police arrested Chinese-American businessman and online opinion leader Charles Xue, known online as Xue Manzi. Xue is accused of using the services of prostitutes.

In a video after the arrest, he explained that when he was working abroad, he patronized prostitutes during his business trips to Thailand and the Netherlands. In other words, "What's the problem with China? I was doing just fine."

Xue is in serious trouble. According to China's law, the first charge of using prostitutes carries a penalty of up to 15 days of detention and fine of up to 5,000 Yuan. But group licentiousness can be punished with to up to 5 years in jail.

What do you think of the law? Do you think the law functions well for national security and the harmonious society (also “stability of marriage and family")? Like people won’t do it if it’s not legalized.

Would China be more harmonious if prostitution was legalized? What's your insight of it?
