1.00 USD = 6.24780 CNY
This is not a record to me. I expect to see sub 6 soon...that will be sweet for anyone interested in diversification of real property in the China real estate bubble to real property in the States...sweet, especially without a bank loan/mortgage.

Let it rise to 1 USD = 2 RMB.
Then nobody will buy anything ever again from China.
Importers have already been resourcing from other Countries.
I'm just here for the money

Dude, the Chinese wont have to worry about exports. They will  off shore their business pollution in the
States after buying up everything.

That's not the issue.
Millions without a job would create chaos and cripple the PRC.
This time around it would make Mao's Great Leap and mass murders look like schoolyard fight.

China does not want too much volatility in the exchange rate but it had to act to ward off currency speculators getting a free ride from the one-way Yuan appreciation. So the Yuan will trade in a band until the rest of the decade. That's how long it will take to transform the structure of the Chinese economy from export-oriented low-cost manufacturing to domestic-market services-based industries.
