A man imprisoned and raped an 18-year-old girl in a cellar digged in his rental house in Xiuzhou district of Jiaxing city, south east China’s Zhejiang Province for 11 days. Not until June 23 did the girl escape from the 11-day nightmare and called the police.
The man surnamed Chen, a 36-year-old migrant worker from central China’s Henan Province, started digging a cellar in his rental house secretly at the end of 2012. On June 12, he went to a KTV in Jiaxing city to pick his victim. He threatened the girl with a prepared knife and an electric baton, and brought her back to his cellar. Hands being tied and mouth sealed, the girl was brutally raped by Chen several times.
After being tortured and raped in the cellar for 11 days, the girl freed her chain with nail clipper in the morning of June 23 and called for help from the sealed window. Hearing her scream, neighbors found her and helped call the police.
The landlord said the man used to be friendly, but suddenly became violent and angry recently and started to make a second door in his room.
All the windows in his rental house were either covered by curtains or sealed, no one can see what’s going on inside, said the landlord.
Arrested on July 25, the man confessed to police that during the girl’s imprisonment, he raped the girl several times, and threatened to leak nude photos of her and kill her, only letting her out of the cellar twice for bathing in the rental house.
He claimed his behavior was influenced by two horror novels he once read online.
