I assume ensuring food safety is a bigchallenge for national governments given the seemingly endless food safety scandals, the horsemeat in EU, the melamine in Chinaand the latest one of clostridium botulinum in New Zealand.

Believe it or not, New Zealand dairy products were chased in China for its well-known good quality. I guess the new scandal just shattered another urban legend. I cann’t help but wondering if there is anyone 100% confident in food safety in his / her country?

As a Chinese, I hate to admit that I’m not confident in food safety in my country. I’m reluctant to eat the kebabs sold by street peddlers as “rumor” says the meat isn’t actually mutton but mouse.

What’s the food safety situation in your country?

I am worried all the time

I hope this could get improved someday so that I won't have to buy milk from foreign countries.

I suspect you meant food safety not food security. ..

why is that a food safety issue? Horse/donkey meat is not poisonous, a mislabeling issue. I, of course, have no wish to eat donkey/horse and would like a steak beef to be beef!

People are poisoned in China via shoddy application of food standard laws
