The China-Russia joint drill, code-named Peace Mission-2013, enters the phase of battle planning Saturday as China's last troops arrived at the designated area.
Peace Mission-2013, which takes place in Chelyabinsk in Russia's Ural Mountainous region from July 27 to Aug. 15, has three phases -- troop deployment, battle planning and simulated combat.
As the exercises will mainly be held at the Chebarkul combined training range and Russia's participating troops are from this area, the first phase focuses on the deployment of Chinese troops.
Two Mi-171 transport helicopters and four Z-9 armed helicopters from a Chinese army aviation regiment arrived Thursday at the Shagol airport. The first and second railway-transported troops from the Chinese side arrived on Friday afternoon. Five JH-7A aircraft of the Chinese Air Force arrived at the Shagol Airport on Friday night.
"The second phase will focus on issues such as coordinating campaign intention, making decisions, preparing plans and organizing coordination, which will lay the foundation for the third phase," said Shi Xiangyuan, chief director of the Chinese side and deputy commander of Shenyang military area command of the People's Liberation Army.
Political and security engagements are not substitutes for genuine good relations. What needs to be worked on is the common Russians' opinion of the Chinese. For a sustainable future there needs to be genuine good relations not just because you need me and I need you and this is especially true for both China and Russia.
To start with are education and job opportunities. With China's population even a projected decline it will still produce a great number of students which means a strong demand for education, good quality education system that is. After graduating these students will need jobs. Therefore a healthy a economic environment is a necessity and it needs to be an open one, not a closed one like the US is heading towards. While both these are being developed, due to China's mass of quantity, it needs to take into account their impact on neighboring countries. As China develops good quality education systems and healthy economic environment, China can look towards working, coordinating and co-operating with neighboring countries' to build a larger comprehensive society where everyone prospers together. This in the long term will reduce animosity and build more goodwill for a conducive sustainability.
