What would China be like if it had "Democracy"?
Better or worse?

The west would claim....
Better

I beg to wonder about that.
Seeing the conditions eroding in the States, I question what democracy has done.
Ideally it means "people" are in power and make the rules.
In reality....
It has grown into a system inflated by wealth and greed.
China would of became the same nightmare it sought to rid itself from.
The dark days of warlords and landlords.
"If" China became a democracy......
We would be ruled by the same people.

I would prefer a truly representative government over a bought and paid for 'democratic' government elected by bought and not paid for voters and serving the interests of the financial backers.
(mostly harmless)

There is an amazing documentary titled "Vote for me!" that was filmed in a primary school in Wuhan. Basically, the students in the class were allowed to vote for a class president of sorts in a general election. It follows the "candidates" on their search for political power. The kids make political promises, strategize how to make their opponents look weak, try to "buy" votes, etc. It is amazing how children who most likely understand very little about the process of democratic elections manage to utilize all of the process' dirty little secrets. I saw this documentary in America, but I believe the filmmaker is Chinese in origin and had permission from the government to film it. Can't remember his name.

Sounds interesting......
Politics should be an honor.
Not a job to get rich.
