What's better way than serving as a civil servant for the betterment of great society as a whole, and at the same time, fulfilling your needs!
In the capitalist West, things like this could be quite a different, quite the opposite actually.
In America, just about every (educated) folks know about the true story of one of the best selling books of all times, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". In the book,
Rich dad is the guy who made his fortune/money in capitalist stock market investing, selling & buying the stocks.
Poor dad is the one, dedicated his life to betterment of society and worked as a civil servant.
Needless to say, stock broker rich dad is 'glorified', while civil servant poor dad is 'marginalised' , which is a very typical attitude/norm in this capitalist & wealth-centered U.S. of A.
