My wife had a PHD in dentistry, it was not accepted until she had completed her undergrad degree again, when she completed it the university wanted her to teach dentistry, because now they accepted all her Asian qualification, after her graduation.

Probably because the west is racist against Chinese? Jingoism? I would say one of the two.
