There's a long list of economically depressed ghost towns and cities in the US. Plus an increase of  ...

The USA could sell California to China and call everything even. 49 states with absolutely no debt.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?

It's hard enough governing Chinese territory.  It's insane to even think of adding a troubled California to the list.

Its harder to govern 1.35 billion people in a country the same size as the USA which has only 330 million.
Add to that, China is surrounded by a multitude of countries who may not have China's best interests in mind.
The USA has only two countries on its borders and the sides are protected by thousands of miles of ocean.
There's no real comparison in the difficulty in governing.

Anti-China sentiment runs strong among many Americans, including Californians.   Why buy a place that will add to China's headaches?  Your idea won't sell, unless you want to see an increase of China bashing and a
Red Dawn scenario.

I only mentioned this as a joke in the first place. You're right, the right wingers and rednecks would be enraged at
the prospect of selling part of the USA to China no matter how much sense it would make.
Wait a little longer and the whole country will be up for sale by the banksters at the rate we're going. {:soso_e113:}
