Oh well, if you've been to China on seven different occasions I assume you must be quite the expert about food and drug safety in China then...
And the fact that you've never been sick once effectively means there is no food or drug issue at all in China. Especially in the rural areas and second and third tier cities where, I assume, you've spent an extensive amount of time.
We are not talking about an isolated incident here. People who actually LIVE in China are becoming more and more aware of this in the last two years. If you LIVE in China you realize that the share given to imported products in supermarket (both foreign owned supermarkets AND chinese owned supermarkets) is raising exponentially. And if you LIVE in China, you know this is not to be fancy but because Chinese people trust less and less their domestic food.
And now, the government informs people they can't trust the drugs they take either ! You want to turn a blind eye and not discuss it, wonderful, but then have the guts to come and live in China, to drink Chinese contaminated milk, to take Chinese contaminated medicine, to eat Chinese lead poisoned vegetables, to use Chinese products laced with lead paint ! Come here and experience the general apathy and lack of bond between people when 18 person can walk past a 2 years old toddler because they either don't care or are afraid to be sued if they help ! Stop hiding from your comfortable sofa in the USA (which, from what you write is a terrible country anyway) and come live in our socialist paradise !
We who LIVE in China do not want to turn a blind eye. We praise the government for its efforts on cracking down these criminal enterprises. And we will keep encouraging the government and point at any other "isolated incidence" as you call them. Because we love this country, with its qualities and its flaws, with its beauty and its ugliness, and we want to make it a better place.
