The 3D version of Titanic is talk of the town again. It's undoubtedly one of my favorite movies. But an article and some statistics I came across a couple of days ago get me thinking: when Titanic was sinking, did the principle "women and children first" really apply?

What will happen if the incident took place today?

These figures are from the official U.S. Senate investigation:

-- First class lost: 119 men, 11 women and children. First class saved: 54 men, 145 women and children.

-- Second class lost: 142 men, and 24 women and children. Second class saved: 15 men, and 104 women and children.

-- Third class lost: 417 men, 119 women and children. Third class saved: 69 men, 105 women and children.

-- Crew lost: 682 men and three women. Crew saved: 194 men and 20 women.

In turn, the US Senate investigation was kept from the public, writes Lynch, due in part to a backlash by the working class against the rich and powerful who viewed their lives as more of value than the poor; as some will say the same view exists in the world today.

Well certainly they did lose more men regardless of their social class.

Would it be the same today?  I doubt it.  Chilvary is dead.

The band played on as she went down...

They all died in minutes, frozen to death.

Well, maybe there's too much moralizing.

The evidence showed how the rich Anglos kept the poor locked up below decks knowing that they will die!

These uncivilized savages follow the "Principle of Survival of the Fittest" and showed what animals they are by taking over the very few boats available. The boats were not even filled in most cases.

Yet Anglos portray themselves as heroes in Hollywood movies!

Diane Abbot (British MP): Anglos love playing divide and rule
David Cameron (British PM): Anglos caused most of the world's problems!
