Man shot in head in front of El Monte home
Saturday, June 16, 2012

EL MONTE, Calif. (KABC) -- Investigators are searching for as many as two suspects in connection to the death of a man
shot in the head in front of his El Monte home Saturday.

Investigators said the incident started as a physical fight between the victim and one or two suspects just before noon
at an apartment building in the 5200 block of Tyler Avenue. Apparently the suspects left, came back some time later and
shot the man in the head. The victim was taken to the hospital where he died of his injury.

"We know that the suspect was involved in some kind of a dispute earlier in the day," said Lt. Matt Burson of the
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. "We are vigorously following up on that information."

The owner of the apartment building where the shooting took place said there was a party held at the home Friday night,
but it was unknown whether it was related to the shooting.

A suspect was described as a Hispanic man who was last seen fleeing north on Tyler Avenue.

Someone was the 10,000 visitor to this thread over the weekend.
April 14 it was 2,536 visitors
May 1 was 3,749
May 15 was 5,366
And now it is 10,083
Now I can clear my desk of one more post-it note.
What could we give the 10,000 visitor to this thread... a knife... a hammer... a bow and arrow set...
Some people say these kill people as well as guns. We could give the 10,000th visitor his or her pick
of any of these prizes and then put them up against someone with a gun and see who gets killed.
Or we could send then both out into a city and see who kills the most people before being subdued.
Anyone out there willing to go up against a guy with a handgun armed with any of these prizes? {:soso_e144:}

12 dead in Aurora, Colorado... this is less than half the daily average in the USA.

No one can seriously argue that guns are no more dangerous than knives or other common weapons.
Could one man go into a crowded theater with a knife or club and kill 12 people, wound over 50 others?
There may be a few who are so mentally handicapped that they still argue this point.
They should be pitied and then ignored. It is not their fault they are so ignorant.
