Yes ALL life's evolution stretches back hundreds of millions of years back to the first small single cellar organisms that first came to be in the primordial soup. From that ancient point ALL forms of life are related. Further forward you go in time the more our relation branch out exactly like a family tree.
And, it took only "a few hundred thousand years (if my recollection of the science of it is correct)" for homo sapiens to have developed from its -- let's say priminitive primitive primate stages to that of the super high intelligent USS Starship Enterprise stages it is while all other life forms on earth stayed relatively the same throughout the eons? C'mon, Laughing! Your brain have to be more much more developed than that of the brain of a Baboon that you give yourself crdit for!!!
It takes the shape of a family tree because in a sense that's what all life on earth is, extremely distantly related family. The point that we decide when two life forms are different species instead of one in the same is based on how far in the past their common ancestral relative is and how much each has evolved seperatly in that time. There is a correlational relationship between how much they have drifted apart genetically and the amoun of time that each has been isolated from another.
Seriously, I'm even of school that even the so-called first single celled whatevers that science has deemed as our ancestors is far more complex than suggested and that if life indeed had started out as the plantons we were suggested to be that these plantons in itself were probably in massive abundance and that it probably comes in thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands, of various different and distinct genetical tracers.
Yes Ed your evolution goes back hundreds of millions of years, but your story is exactly 100% the same as everyone else's on the planet until 60,000 years ago. Many of them, like everyone in east Asia about 38,000 years. Within that I'd wager there are probably hundreds of thousands that you are related through a relative who lived less than 10,000 years ago, especially thanks to the explosion in asian population from what was probably a similar base to other groups in the distant past. Meaning you're more closely related to more people than probably anyone of any other ethnicity on the planet since asians are the most populous.
60,000 years, too, isn't sufficient enough of a time for evolution take place as it did. Example: there are theories that the Sphinx of Egypt is more than 10,000 years old which is way older than the Pyrimids of Egpyt and that the underwater cities dicovered under the Sea of Japan is equally as historic. Now how do you explain the advanced stages of the sciences and the engineering of these and other humanoid communities if 60,000 years is about the duration that humanoids can be dependent upon as where we wentseparate ways? Life is God's secret (whatever God is to each of us) and "SCIENCE" is "NOT" God and will never and can never be God.
