They spent their days perfecting the gushing messages on Love Hearts, but it seems workers at the sweets factory have - quite literally, taken their work - to heart.
A whopping one in four of the employees at the Swizzels Matlow factory in Derbyshire is in a relationship with a colleague.
The factory, which produces 2.75 billion of the sweets every year, is in the running to be the most romantic workplace in Britain, after love blossomed for sixty one couples.
Jeremy Dee, director at Swizzels Matlow, said: “There must be something in the sugar-coated air. All sixty one couples met at work and now many are married, engaged or have children. One couple even used to pass Love Hearts down the production line to each other before they got chatting in the canteen.
“Love Hearts clearly inspire romance.”
The sweets - being tipped as a top, and bargainous present for Valentine’s Day - cost 28p a tube.
The five most popular loved-up phrases are I Iove you, Kiss me, First love, All mine and Just you.
This year people can use a new Facebook App where fans can send personalised messages on a giant digital Love Heart.
