Jamaica to break links with UK

Jamaica's new Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller, has said she intends to make the island a republic, removing Queen Elizabeth as the head of state.

        In her inaugural address, Ms Simpson Miller said the time had come for Jamaica to break with the British monarchy and have its own president.


        The announcement comes ahead of celebrations to mark 50 years of Jamaican independence from Britain.
        The Queen's grandson, Prince Harry, is due to the visit the island this year.

The Commonwealth should also disband; what purpose does it serve today other than provide photo opportunities for the british crown to remind the locals that they were once allowed to operate only at the pleasure of anglo-saxon majesties however with teutonic blood?

Australia should stand independent of both British and American influence because the former treated it as a forgettable and remote brig for its inmates and the latter is setting it up to be cannon fodder.  Eating too much australian-made but italian-originated Nutella has made Julia Gillard nutty enough to open her door for a foreign power to set up camp on australian soil.
