Iran seems that itwill not be satisfied until it gets what it wants, WAR. Like dictators in this region of the past the Iranian ruling officials seem to care little about their people or the world and more about dominance in their region. A political stance that draws the nations of the world together to put down as the world's nations are left with little choice for their own economic self-preservation. These are people with just enough intelligence to be dangerous to their people and to the worlds'.

Iran's navy chief threatened Wednesday that his country can close the waterway at their will. "Closing the Strait of Hormuz is very easy for Iranian naval forces," Adm. Habibollah Sayyari told state-run Press TV. "Iran has comprehensive control over the strategic waterway."

The strait is just 34 miles wide, and about 20 percent of the WORLD's oil shipments pass through this strait. Iran is the world's fourth-largest oil producer, with an output of about 4 million barrels of oil a day. Iran has adopted an aggressive military posture in recent months.

All of this comes at a tense time, as the Iranian navy carries out an obvious provocative 10-day naval exercise that includes dispatching warships and drones over the vital world needed waterway. The exercises are being carried out on the eastern side of the strait and down into the Gulf of Aden and will intentionally put Iranian ships on a collision course with U.S. naval vessels.

On Tuesday, Vice President Mohamed Reza Rahimi also threatened to close the strait, cutting off oil exports.

Thankfully for the world the U.S. Navy's 5th fleet keeps a robust presence in the region and is ready to counter any malevolent actions to ensure freedom of navigation. Anyone who threatens to disrupt freedom of navigation in an international strait is clearly outside the community of nations; any disruption should not be tolerated by the world.

With Iran's elections scheduled for March 2012 will they be in time for the uneasy Iranian peoples to remove such a suicidal hardline government before they accomplish getting their nation into a war?

With their current regime holding opposition leaders in detention the odds of the Iranian peoples to have a free and untainted election is slim at best.

In meantime Israel preparing for another Gaza war?

Wed Dec 28, 2011

Israeli army chief-of-staff Benny Gantz
Israel has threatened to launch another all-out war on the Gaza Strip, saying attacking the Palestinian territory is not a matter of choice, but a war of necessity for Tel Aviv.

Marking the third anniversary of Israel's deadly attack on Gaza, the chief of staff of the Israeli military, Lt. General Benny Gantz, said on Tuesday that Tel Aviv will ''sooner or later'' need to launch a large-scale operation against Hamas, the democratically-elected ruler of Gaza because Tel Aviv is losing its grip on the coastal strip.

Gantz said Operation Cast Lead, which Israel launched against Gaza on December 27, 2008 and lasted for three week, had a deterrent effect on Israeli security, in which cracks were starting to show over time, forcing Israel to launch another war.

Gantz also said that Tel Aviv is looking for the right time to launch a military offensive against the Gaza Strip and that the new war ''must be initiated by Israel and must be swift and painful".

The Israeli regime waged a 22-day Christmas war on the densely populated coastal sliver in 2008 left more than 1,400 Palestinians dead including at least 300 children.

The offensive also destroyed 4,000 houses and devastated a large portion of infrastructures in the blockaded strip. Israeli military forces also targeted UN-run schools and centers.

More than 50,000 people were also displaced as a result of the three-week war.

Tel Aviv also used internationally-banned weapons, including white phosphorus bombs, against the Gazans during the three-week war.

The FACTS are is Iran is currently physically in the Strait and threatening to sink and/or stop international world shipping.

Any other country in the region has the right to protect itself and with weapons that are strictly deterrents. Any country has this sovereign right, ANY.

Iran on the OTHER HAND has physically moved military hardware into the strait WITH it's TOP leaders threatening to stop free international shipping there. That in it self is more than being provocative, and boarders on declaring war against ANY world nation that travels through the strait.

Just telling the facts with no propaganda or lies like you do.

Actually it is both Western and Iranian Aggressive posturing that is threatening world peace. each is upping the ante in this squabble.
The tactics of the US led west is not working towards peace at all, it's confrontational. Whether Iran has nukes or not is still debatable, and after the USA's lack of intelligence in Iraq I think we need more proof.
I'm a little bit wrong and your a little bit right.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

Ronny the point here is that Iran has moved it's chess pieces, military hardware; war ships) ALONG with verbal threats from it's elites to use them in order to physically blockade civilian international shipping and any ship flying any flag.

The political options on the Iranian's table are many in the political posturing back and forth. But this option, even one they had on the table, to implement it is ignorant one and threatens world peace two.

Moving ships into the strait for maneuvers is one thing. Any country to include Iran has this right and I support that. BUT to do so and have your TOP leaders say the exercises are for the soul intent to put up a blockade should THEY decide, regardless, is another matter altogether.
