Yep.. she won this point too, my wife won’t let me ride my motor bike in China, not happy, but wh ...

I agree. If your wife is happy then life is so much easier. Some things are not worth arguing about.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?

Hmmmm.. what about..?

You listed Chinese driver, Chinese truck driver and Chinese bicycle and moto's abilities and attitude. I only wondered if you had a comment on foreigners driving the roads in china. Have you ever tried to get a licence in China or better, do you know the rules & regulations in China that are often surprisingly different to foreign drivers?

Been driving in China every day for the last 4/5 years now, have driven in most part of the world  ...

Same here, but only been driving about 3 years here in China.  I used to drive in Mexico a lot several years ago and thought they were bad, but I agree, the Chinese are the worst I have seen.

I have driven in Mejico too, while not the best drives on the road, at least you get the ‘perdone ...

I see what you all are saying but the worst driving I encountered was that of Iran / Tehran!

I also got my Chinese drivers licence here in Shanghai Oct. 2011 and do drive occasionally.
The rules here in China in fact are based on but do differ in many ways from those in Europe! In May 2011 the rules about driving under the influence of Alc. is not only an offence anymore and you go straight to Jail to be punished for committing a crime. (I like that!)

2 things we maybe should think over again to get a clear picture of the situation;
Hence now I have the licence in my pocket, - may I assume that I am allowed to drive like an idiot as well?
And please be aware of, - that should you drive a car in China on a daily basis for a long period you ability to take part in western traffic situations will diminish slowly but surely!

Always drive as you really can and not as you think that you can
