A striped shirt. An enameled cup. A wind-up toy... Nostalgic goods are evoking strong emotions among China's "post-80s" generation as traders are quick to see the possible business opportunities from this.

Nostalgia-themed stores are emerging in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, targeting those born between 1980 and 1989, reported Wednesday.

Novel restaurants also entertain post-80s eaters with red scarves, armbands bearing red strokes and even exam papers lying around.

Economists are counting on the booming "nostalgia industry" to stimulate consumption.
