Russia Today:
Netanyahu labeled liar in Sarkozy-Obama G20 mic-leak

http://rt.com/news/obama-sarkozy-undiplomatic-netanyahu-789/

Published: 8 November, 2011,

The presidents of America and France have aired complaints about the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in the course of a private conversation overhead by journalists, reports say. President Sarkozy went so far as to call Netanyahu a liar.

揑 can抰 stand him!?the Frenchman told his American counterpart in a would-be confidential discussion. Obama抯 reply was 揧ou're fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!?

The exchange is alleged to have happened on Monday on the fringes of the G20 summit, following a media conference. According to the French website Arret Sur Images, the private conversation between the two was broadcast to a half-dozen-strong press crowd when microphones were accidentally left switched on.

The two leaders first discussed France抯 vote in favor of Palestine抯 accession to the UNESCO, which came as a surprise to the US, which opposed the move, the report says. The pair went on to pursue an undiplomatic discussion of Netanyahu抯 personality.

The report further alleges that the journalists, who involuntarily witnessed the conversation, decided not to make it public due to its sensitive nature. The tensions between the Israeli leader and some of his Western partners, including Obama, are no big secret, but the differences have not been brought to the public eye in such blunt terms before.

The website does not reveal the identity of the journalists who leaked the story.

Politico author Ben Smith compared the expos?to the WikiLeaks?揅ablegate revelations? "Things that are widely understood, but not supposed to be spoken aloud."

Oh dear you just don't get it do you?

India have 1.3 billion people more than any permanent nuclearly armed security council member with exception of china.

Israel on another hand is small  ...
.

See, it doesn't matter if I totally agree with you. You're arguing about idealistic issues that don't matter. We might as well discuss whether Vanilla or Chocolate ice cream is better.

Israel being founded on "stolen" land is neither here nor there when it comes to the non proliferation treaty.

Israel being small or large has nothing to do with the non proliferation treaty.

This is not about fairness or logic, it's about a treaty obligation that Iran agreed to. Iran agreed not to pursue nuclear weapons and to be transparent about its nuclear program. India, Pakistan and Israel did not agree to this. Ergo, the original complaint of this thread makes no sense.

As an aside, most Arab countries are founded on "Stolen" land taken during an aggressive Jihad, however this is not an issue in modern day, the issue at hand is that they are recognized states. Israel is recognized by most countries in the world, including many Muslims states.

Israel an apartheid regime: Tribunal

Tue Nov 8, 2011

The Russell Tribunal on Palestine has found that Israel's practices against the Palestinian people are in violation of the prohibition of apartheid under the international law, Press TV reports.

After two days of proceedings, the Tribunal and its panel of jurists have determined that Israel is an apartheid regime with an institutionalized system of domination as recognized under international law, Press TV's correspondent Hassen Seria reported on Monday from Cape Town, South Africa.

The Tribunal declares that although the Palestinians living 搖nder colonial military rule in the Occupied Palestinian Territory are subject to a particularly aggravated form of apartheid,?the apartheid system extends to Israeli treatment of Palestinian citizens within Israel, and that Tel Aviv's 搑ule over the Palestinian people, wherever they reside, collectively amounts to a single integrated regime of apartheid.?

The Tribunal has urged Israel to dismantle this system and called for the international community to put pressure on the occupying force through sanctions and severing ties with Tel Aviv. It wants the UN General Assembly to list banks, companies, organizations and other corporations which insist on supporting Israel as well.

While the sessions were underway, the Tribunal's website was hacked. Experts have described this as a precision attack. At the same time, Israeli Knesset (parliament) instituted action to have an Arab member of Knesset, Haneen Zoabi, stripped of her citizenship because she had testified in Cape Town.

Zoabi told Press TV that Israel views every move for democracy as an attack on its racist system.

She stated, "We are demanding Israel to stop this racist system and to recognize equal rights for the Palestinians because it is our homeland; we didn't immigrate to Israel; it is Israel that immigrated to us.?

Zoabi added that even when we are struggling for equality, we are actually compromising because we are the indigenous people and we are asking immigrants to give us equal rights!

Considering the threat to Zoabi, the Tribunal has delivered a letter to the South African government asking it to ensure no reprisals will be made by the Israeli regime against those who testified in South Africa.

The Russell Tribunal on Palestine (RToP) was formed in March 2009 to promote and sustain initiatives in support of the rights of the Palestinian people. The RToP is a part of the Russell Tribunal, also known as the International War Crimes Tribunal or Russell-Sartre Tribunal, that was a public body organized by British philosopher Bertrand Russell and hosted by French philosopher and playwright Jean-Paul Sartre.
