Bread and cheese are readily available in GZ, or were when I was there, both sandwich bread and blocks of cheese. Try going to a Carrefours or Metro supermarket. Jusco  in GZ has both.

enhn, most of the food are localized when it goes to another place/country,  cheese is no exception...however, i'd want to take a try of the real cheese

I'm not complaining I can't find cheese, I merely mention squared cheese you put on hamburgers is NOT cheese. If I wanted to live in a country where I can find cheese easily I certainly wouldn't have come to China (even though cheese is the only thing I miss from my home country).

BTW, for all people who say they can find good french bread in Shanghai, I'd love to know where ? Because of the humidity in Shanghai it is simply impossible to get a good baguette here.

In China cheese may have the same meaning as muddy snails or fermented bean curd, which are quite different from that of milk cows.
